The Suzukis were still the car to have: 1-2-3 for Top, Tappel and Kerseboom. Fourth was van de Haterd in the first Rover.

2000
Cars and teams were reshuffled, the top honours fought out between Nissan and BMW. John Bosch, unable to get a rallye program together was the surprise third Nissan entry after Raymond Coronel and Reinders; with his F3 experience he took the lead but asked too much of his tires, dropping back to fifth in the end. Euser and Huisman brought the race home, ahead of the surprise of the day Happé and his Mitsubishi Colt.

The new Alfa Romeo 155 Q4s were missing, since they had to add an 38 mm restrictor short before the race - there was no time to adopt the cars. The Lotus team, now with van Vliet partnering Langeberg won the race with the newcomer in front ahead of Ron Langeberg (Mercedes). A fine debut for German youngster Mario Merten, who put the ex-Salmenoutio BMW on pole, had a bad start, clocked fastest lap and finally ended in a tangle with Ron langeberg and Colijn.
