It seemed the BMW M3 GTR cars were playing with their opponents; and it became worse when Nissen, three seconds ahead, slowed and let Cecotto by in the last curve of the race.
In the beginning of the race they had been fighting with Grohs, von Gartzen, Schmitt and Niedzwiedz, but the latter stranded with an empty tank. The Hondas, with no ABS, were nor competitive here but despite the BMW victory the Porsche drivers thought their cars were improved. Wait and see.
