An exciting weekend at Zandvoort, but not always for the right reasons; an serious accident in the Historic race overshadowed this day.

1400
Much was expected from the battle between Rover and Suzuki; but the Rovers had the upper hand and Oeberius Kapteyn, van de Haterd and guest Tim Coronel took the lead and put some distance between them and the Suzukis, where Top and Tappel had a fight of their own. When Coronel retired, it was van de Haterd winnign over

2000
John Bosch had pole, but race had to be restarted (or was a pace car used?) after Pieter Hemels rolled his car at Gerlach corner. Bosch dropped back with tire problems, and until the pit stops Ciapponi led the race. The Nissan team was quicker and Raymond Coronel took over and won the race, with Ciapponi second, just unable to repair the damage done with his pit stop, and Reinders third - finally a good result for him and the Nissan team. The BMWs played a tactical game with an eye on the weight situation, and took 4-5-6 spot in the race.

+2000
The Alfa Romeo team withdrew since the car still was not competitive, while Kox won - but his car was a little underweight, enough for a disqualification which was later reversed. Langeberg (Lotus) finished second ahead of “Carly” who had an eventful afternoon when he first touched Ron Langeberg after the start and later collided with van Vliet. Olij surprised by leading much of the race but he fell back with a troublesome gearbox.
