Hoy was on top form at Snetterton, claiming pole with teammate Rouse sharing the front row and Tim Harvey in third spot, helped by his ABS brakes he reckoned. Hoy took the lead and went on in decisive style to win the race while Kaye in a similar Toyota did not go that far; he collided with Verdon-Roe at the end of the first lap and had to retire.
Rouse slotted in second ahead of Cleland and Menu, but soon Allam passed Menu for fourth and a little later Harvey passed Menu as well. A heart stopping moment at the Bombhole: Cleland dived on the inside, surprising Rouse who made a little room so Cleland could take second. Allam had watched it all, and tried to do the same, but both he and Rouse spun and dropped back. Now Harvey was in third, but it was not to last: a puncture ended his race since the mechanics stripped the threads on the wheel and Harvey had to give up. Menu inherited third and kept that to the finish despite pressure from Bellm until the latter half-spun and stalled. Finally it was Rouse who finished fourth, behind Hoy, Cleland and Menu.
