An enjoyable weekend with the message that the circuit was saved for another 20 years and that the extension to 4.250 meters was final now, though it would take some time.

1400
After a tough fight, Amée de Jong won the race ahead Tappel and Mok with Kreijne in fourth.

2000
Kalff’s was back behind the wheel of the Alfa 33, and both Coronel Jr and van der Heijden were unable to follow the tempo of the TV commentator; they finished in that order. Krab finished fourth after a tap on the back of Meylink but the most celebrated man was Leonid Protasov, all the way from Ukraine; with his tatty Lada he had a sort of fight with Bolderheij’s nearly standard Nissan Primera. The multi-champion of Ukraine and Russia got a special cup and was overjoyed with all the attention, after a six-day struggle to get to Zandvoort in the first place. He promised to be back in August.

17 entries for a class that was nearly dead last year; good work from the TOP2000+ initiative. Pole man van Dedem could despite all his efforts not withstand the pressure of Langeberg and his Lotus; in the 12th lap Langeberg took the lead and won, with van Dedem second and Kroymans in another Lotus third. The BMW 325s had varying degrees of success; van Vliet dropped back with tire problems and a gearbox stuck in fifth, Santisi was happy with his debut as 10th, van Krimpen and Salmenoutio both left the track.
