A nice race, won by Amee de Jong ahead of Top and Kreijne.

2000
This time, the DTM format was reserved for the 2-liter cars. Van Splunteren retired from racing with Euser taking over he vacant seat, to ensure a Coronel would win the championship. Euser duly won heat 1, but in heat 2 he let Tommy by and secured second, withstanding pressure of Meylink in the Alfa 33. The other team car, for van Dedem again since Kalff was at the Hungaroring for Eurosport, did not figure in the results since van Dedem spun on the opening lap.
Nissan was not happy at all, since the cars could not be made lighter than they were (at a reasonable price); they asked for a weight penalty for BMW but so far without success. The next step: withdrawal for 2 races?

So far, the season for Marcel van Vliet had been a disaster and the family business-backed team was on the verge of withdrawal. But miracles happen: Marcel qualified on pole and won the race, ahead of teammates Salmenoutio and van Krimpen.
