Top of the bill this year would be the 2-liter class of the production championship, after the withdrawal of the importer teams from the big class. A cracking entry and the track debut of the E36 BMW (four of them) as well as eight (!) Alfa Romeo 75s, a brand new Nissan Sunny and many cars from last year; but the race was a disappointment! The over-2500 cc class had a less impressive entry, but three M3s, three Mercedes and a Mazda were at least competitive. Hemmes’ Nissan contract (she would drive a Group N Godzilla) was cancelled after Nissan thought it would be impossible to get the engine management system to work with the Dutch restrictor rules. |
