A new year, a new class - improved Group N - and old troubles; the new baby Benz of van Dedem wanted to use a differential intended for a different version of the 2.5-16 but 90 minutes before the race it had to be changed after a threat of a protest. It might have cost him a win, which now went to the 4-door Sierra of Hin, the car handicapped by the new rules but still fast; Hemmes was naive enough to set a blindingly fast practice lap, where Hin kept it cool. It would result in more penalties for Ford, of course. Other frontrunners were the BMW M3s of Krab and Visser, while in the lower classes the 2000 cc division 3 had some new cars with a Kadett GSI 16v and an Alfa 75 Twin Spark, all cars mentioned with support from the importers!
Hemmes blew her start, so van Dedem and Hin fought for the lead but it looked like Hin was sandbagging. He won by the closest of margins, van Dedem satisfied with second. Van Krimpen (Sierra) soon retired with suspension problems, and the M3s were unable to keep up; Krab had to start from the back, while Visser had a puncture. Van der Beek had a brand-new Mazda RX7 turbo, but his car, like many others, was not fully prepared - it still had a showroom engine. Kerseboom won the 2-liter class, the 1300 class was won by de Jong.

What was left of the Group A field (10 cars) started 30 seconds behind, with only the BMW 325 of Dam and the Mustang of Moritz worth mentioning. The Sierras and the M3 were sold, what was left was a sort of youngtimer race.
