A bumper entry for the final touring car races of the year, though not all would make it. The format of the meeting had changed for the tourers, with two short sprints on the programme instead of the previous 120-km race on the Saturday. Race 1 Brock led away from the restart while Johnson made his way into second past Longhurst and Seton down Brabham Straight. Longhurst soon found himself unchallenged out in front as first Brock then Johnson spun out of the lead, and Seton retired with a broken half-shaft. He went on to win the shortened race from a recovering Brock and Percy. Heat 2 |
