Group A
The sky darkened ominously when the cars of class A1, 2 and 3 with Patrese and Nannini on the front row on the Alfa 75 Turbo Evo were ready for the start - on slicks. Nannini took the lead followed by Francia, Brancatelli, Patrese, Livio and Mancini. Shortly after the first lap Nannini ran wide and left the door open for Francia, but then the rain flooded the track - the race was redflagged after three laps. Nannini and Nucera were not allowed to take part in the restart, because their cars had been helped by the mechanics to return to the pits. Now on rain tires, Francia led ahead of Patrese. Brancatelli tried to pass the Williams driver, but lost some positions. The first two stretched their lead over Drovandi, Ricci, Livio, Giudici and Brancatelli, while D'Amore is forced to the pits.
After half time the gap between Francia and Patrese is approximately 8 seconds. Brancatelli in the meantime is completing his series of overtakes with taking third place from Drovandi.
In the race for smaller classes, the Ritmo of Nocchi took the lead over Falessi (Ritmo), closely followed by another Ritmo of Bonetti with Bigliazzi with the Alfa 33 4x4 first of the A6 cars at the end of the race. The race was shortened by with two laps with Nocchi as the winner.

Group N
Taking advantage of the track still wet, the Delta Integrale of Giannini made a terrific start, which lead him to second from the fifth row, behind Giudici. But the pole man made a jump start, received a penalty and quit the race in anger. Giannini now was in the lead, followed by Galluzzo (BMW M3) and the Sierras of “Toby”, "Giacomo" and Corsini, while Gagliano was involved in the melee of the first round. He would make a storming comeback that will take him to fourth place eventually.
Even with the track drying out, Giannini stayed ahead and Galluzzo, in second place in the early laps, gradually began to lose ground being in trouble with his car. Califano, with the Renault 21 Turbo leading N2 was in tenth. “Toby" and Corsini, driving for the Lella Lombardi Team, ended on the rostrum behind Giannini.
The N3 race, consisted for a good two thirds of Renault 5 GT Turbos, was a prey for Gianni Marchiol who was able to quickly detach the pack of pursuers. In N4, Naddeo with the Peugeot 205 GTI won with only Milla challenging him with the Toyota Corolla. Gaetano Calcagno, Autosprint reader winning a prize contest, drove a careful race with the Alfa 33, finishing tenth.
