Apart from the British F3 race, there was more than enough excitement at the Touring car races - but for the wrong reasons.

Group N
The group N race was first handicapped by the tight time schedule; the race was shortened to 10 laps. They decided to make a good show and to leave the real fights for later, but the Danish Corolla guest drivers were not informed; the first one of them rolled after a single lap, which meant a red flag. Hemmes reduced speed and stopped at the straight, but both Hin and Ruitenbeek flew past. Both were disqualified, but the remaining 7 laps were counted as a separate race; the first two laps more or less never happened, though the disqualifications were real! So it was Hemmes, who finished behind Ruitenbeek and Hin, who won the race but she was disqualified for having an air hose to cool the driver. A bewildered Koks now got the silverware, but not for long; Hemmes was reinstated at a later date. Since van Kouwen, Eglem and Vörös all jumped the (second) start, Postma was third overall - though not on the road. Van Kouwen still won his class ahead of Krab (MG).

Group A
The Group A men had decided to make a show as well, so van Dedem held back a little while Bolderheij enjoyed his Sierra Cosworth for the first time in a race - but to van Dedem’s grief, since outbraking an M3 at Tarzan is a difficult action - it may even be impossible with a Sierra; Bolderheij rammed the rear of the BMW and both spun. Hin won the race ahead of guest Bleekemolen who he passed in the last lap after a light tap, which nearly sent Bleekemolen into the crashed Alfa of van Vlimmeren; Bolderheij and a livid van Dedem finished behind this duo - the latter as champion of the 2500 cc division, after all.
