Group N
Since Hin was busy at Zolder qualifying his Holden, no practice time for him in the Sierra - or was it? Secretly, the car was qualified by Coronel but this came out and Hin was disqualified. Ruitenbeek had a miserable start so Hemmes took the lead, but was passed in the second lap, where Koks did the same but he had to retire a few laps later with a blown head gasket. The fight between Eglem and Vörös continued, with Eglem the victim of a touch from the latter, he spun and had to start all over again. Of course he met Krab on his way to the front, and lap after lap the MG was on the verge of going off, but each time he just made it - until he overcooked things and Eglem could pass. It was too late to catch Vörös, who celebrated his first win. Even in the smallest class there was a tough fight, between Bolderheij (with yet another new car, a Daihatsu Charade GTti) and Oeberius. The latter won, but the unprepared Daihatsu left a competitive impression.

Group A
Hin did start from the back in this race, no tricks necessary. He brought his new Holden Commodore, and his neighbour on the last row was another welcome addition to the Group A field: Evert Bolderheij had built a Sierra Cosworth with parts from Andy Rouse. The latter got no further than the warm up lap with his jammed brakes, but Hin really set off in the Australian monster. The car was not yet on par with van Dedem’s BMW, who won the race of course, but both setup and gearing were guesswork which worked remarkably well; but the problem the exhaust damper, which was hampering the engine too much.
Despite all this, van Dedem had real opposition this time: van der Beek took the lead early in the race, his Mazda had no power disadvantage but the roadholding of the BMW was a class of its own. So they finished 1-2 with Hin not that far behind.
