Colin Bond's Alfa had undergone a post-ATCC rebuild, including a switch to RHD. The work paid dividends with Bond putting the red car third on the grid, although turbo problems would put the car out early. The factory Starion missed the race after new driver Gary Scott hit a patch of oil and crashed the car during practice. Peter Brock finally had his VL on the pace, and came close to winning the race until a slow pitstop and driver change let Richards and Longhurst go through for an easy win. |
