After the Monza misery, in Jarama things cooled down; Eggenberger could use the Bosch Motronic, BMW brought legal cars and we had a race. In practice, the Sierras were quickest, but in the race on full tanks the Sierras could not match the M3’s speed. The Fords had to change tires twice instead of once for BMW. In the end, Ford finished fourth and fifth, behind three BMWs. Schnitzer, happy with the Yokohama tires, got the first two places (Pirro/Ravaglia ahead of Capelli/Ratzenberger) with local hero Perez-Sala in third, sharing the Bigazzi car with Grouillard. |
