Finally, a Ford win in the DTM. After polesitter Klammer had a very bad start, Niedzwiedz took the lead. At the end of the race, being conservative on the brakes and tires, he was seriously challenged by Thiim, and when the latter was on the rear bumper of the Ford it seemed only a question of time before the Rover would take the lead - but Thiim spun, hampering with failing brakes. Stureson had been near the front too, but a coming together with Thiim he fell back to eleventh. |
