Real Group N promotion here: over 60 entries in this 4-heat race; two on Friday and two on Saturday. Thierry Boutsen was present in a second Juma BMW 323, while Bourgoignie made a comeback behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo GTV6. Another comeback was Bernard Carlier, who drove a Mitsubishi Starion - and put it on pole. On Friday, it became the Carlier-show, he dominated and even Boutsen couldn’t do anything about it. The F1 driver finished second, ahead of Vanierschot. Both Semoulin and Simons had troubles with their Turbo Escort, while Nève had a broken differential. The 1600 cc class was dominated once again by Holvoet and the MR2 - and he would repeat that on Saturday. |
