The 40-lap endurance race was held in hot conditions, taking its toll in many cases of vapour lock. But there were loads of other retirements, so in the end it was a surprise victory of Raymond Coronel in the Monza, followed by a near-dead heat between Ernst and van den Raadt. Fourth was the only surviving Camaro of Vermeulen, and behind him came the first car of the Corolla Trophy though it was disqualified for overtaking the safety car. |
