Since there were still discussions, protests and appeals for the Diepholz race, nobody knew exactly how many points Manthey had - and if he still had a chance on the title, perhaps with help of the green table. Peil had a slim chance too, but in the warmup he touched with John and tried to get his damaged car back to the pits - he crossed the track at the moment Dr. Gerold and his BMW 323 arrived. He tried in vain to spin the car, and t-boned the Volvo. Both cars were totalled, so Peil tried to borrow Kröber’s car - but to no avail. The angry Peil now hoped that Stureson would retire! |
