The Gubin team was happy with second for Strycek here, since his lead in the championship seemed big enough now to claim the title at the last race. Winner was, who else, Grohs, but it wasn’t too easy: he had to fight with Vogt (until that car retired), with John and his Camaro (until that expired too) and with Manthey, until the latter ran into tire troubles. The expected help for the Vogelsang team, a second 635 lent by Walter Brun, did not materialise: Stuck rejected the car (car undrivable”) and van Ommen who volunteered for the now vacant seat couldn’t do much as well. |
