On the very fast track of the Berliner Avus, it looked like the championship had taken off. Two fine races and a lot of excitement. Van Ommen again qualified on pole for this 2-heat have-points-per-heat race, but he had a hard fight with Trint which was decided on the last lap, when he missed his braking point for the first chicane and damaged his oil sump and the steering of the Rover. He could salvage second, but wasn’t able to take part in the second heat. Trint won “no problems at all!”. |
