A Jaguar took the lead in the race, no surprise here, but then a rim broke and when Calderari, who had taken over from Walkinshaw had an accident with Winkelhock the prime challenger was out. Walkinshaw switched to the second Jag, but this was already a long way behind. So it was a question which BMW would win the race; Quester lost his lead after a puncture, so Kelleners and Grano won the race with Quester and Winkelhock only nine seconds behind. The 2500 cc class was won by Marazzi, Suster and Naddeo (Alfa Romeo) while the small class was won by the Audi of Seikel and Schörg. |
