Tom Walkinshaw Racing's trio of Rover Vitesses found the dry racing conditions at Oulton Park on Good Friday as much to their liking as the deluge in which the opening Trimoco RAC British Saloon Car Championship round was run at Silverstone 12 days previously. Minus competitive opposition at this stage of the year - the much-vaunted BMWs and Win Percy's Toyota Celica Supra are, as yet, unready even if the latter was due to be homologated on raceday - it is a one-horse race for overall honours at the moment... No, credit where credit's due, it is a three-horse affair for the blue Sanyo Rovers of Jeff Allam and Peter Lovett and the yellow Hepolite example of Silverstone master Steve Soper are, at least, fiercely competitive among themselves. |
