The first part of the race saw a terrific fight between the Jag of Walkinshaw and the BMW of Grano, with Vojtech close behind; the second Jaguar had already fallen back and was destined to retire. Grano and Kelleners stayed on top, since Walkinshaw had to reduce speed since his fuel consumption was far too high - the choke couldn’t be switched off! The Schnitzer team had another misarable outing, Stuck and Brun finishing fourth ahead of Heyer and Quester. The 2500 cc cass was won by Francia and Micangeli, with the BMW 323 of Jo Winkelhock and Vogt close behind. |
