Division 1
It wasn’t Walter Bruns weekend; after crashing his Sauber SHS C6 in practice for the DRM race, he now had to abandon his BMW M1 in the last lap. When the crankshaft damper broke, oil came in the footwell; and it caught fire! The car was still doing about 50 kph when he jumped out, he emerged slightly burned and with a bruised elbow. Stuck won the race ahead of quester and von Bayern, who clinched yet another podium.

Division 2
Winfried Vogt had been fired by the Postert Toyota team and got himself a BMW 320. From eight to the grid he went from strength to strength and in the last lap he surprised van Ommen by passing him at the last corner of the last lap to BMW’s first win in the Trophy.
