It was said that 1982 would be a BMW year, but in fact the Capri of Semoulin was still competitive.
Heyer was on pole with Joosen, Regout and Peltier next - and then the Capri of Semoulin. But after the start, the Juma cars ran into tyre troubles and Joosen retired after a coming together with the Camaro of Lierneux. Life for Semoulin became even easier when both Waterloo cars tangled together at Les Combes and the Capri took the lead. Regout had to change a tyre after the incident with his teammate but after a further mishap at the chicane he had to settle for second.
