Sensation at the Salzburgring: Czech driver Vojtech had talented Jo Gartner aboard in his 528i and won the race after 83 laps. Kelleners/Grano had been in second place for most of the race since the Jaguar of Walkinshaw (who drove the race alone) lost a lot of time in the pits. But he set off to catch the BMW Italia car, and succeeded, finishing second only 4/10s ahead of Kelleners/Grano.
Division 2 was Alfa Romeo property again, Brancatelli and Micangeli finishing 6th overall, while one Audi (Seikel) retired in the warmup, the other falling back in the race when the track dried.
