Only 82 pokal racers here, divided into too many classes. A new thing was tried: all cars of the same capacity in one race. This ended disastrous for Schneider, who tangled his Fiesta with a Group B Polo - it cost him dear. Wieddekind and Köster kept their championship hopes intact. The 1300 race was won by Pötschke ahead of Behrens, while the Group B 1600 class was contested both on the track and the green table; Gröpper won ahead of Deutgen but the Kilian team protested against the Scirocco of Gröpper. In vain: the car was legal. In the last race, the M1 drivers Jürgensen and Schiebler had to lap the other cars on the short track, but it went allright. Wollstadt was beaten by the Escort of Schneider, while the AN cars finished in the order Walkowiak, Manthey and Dahlen. |
