For the first time in many, many years we had a 4-door saloon which could win races: BMW Motorsport sold the 528i Group A for 85.000 Deutschmarks, and there were a few of them at Monza. However, the writing was on the wall or the future: neither Camaro nor an Opel Monza would dominate Group A in the future - but a TWR prepared Jaguar XJS could. This time, the car retired, and Eggenberger won 1-2 (Grano/Kelleners) with a Belgian Juma car (Joosen/Vermeersch) in third. |
