Surprisingly, the BMW Italia 528 got pole with the Jag only second. In third was the Juma BMW of Heyer and Joosen, and in the race this trio was accompanied for 15 laps by the Camaro of De Deyne, before that fell back with predictable brake problems. The lead changed again and again between the trio, until the Jag retired with overheating problems. Kelleners and Heyer continued the fight, but when the suspension broke Heyer had to pit so Kelleners/Grano won the race, with Heyer and Joosen finishing only seventh after repairs. |
