Italian officials played a major role in this race; on the road, the race was won by the RCV BMW 635 of Werginz and Quester, with a second 635 in second place, but six cars from the top-10 were disqualified (mostly bcause of illigal front suspension mountings) so the surprise winners were now Müller and Kuhn-Weiss with their Mazda RX7. The new Audis had problems again: the Seikel car blew its engine while the Spiess car of Bergmeister and de Madrid had to change a halfshaft. |
