Vince Woodman scored his first race win for nearly two years when he took his unsponsored Capri to victory in the Tricentrol race at Thruxton. Second was Gordon Spice followed by championship leader Andy Rouse, both in 3-litre Ford Capris. The Tom Walkinshaw Racing Mazda RX7 of Win Percy was elbowed out to fourth ahead of Jeff Allam's Rover and the Capri of Nick Whiting. Chris Hodgetts was lucky to pick up the Class C honours after long time leader Martin Brundle brought the Team BP Audi into the pits with another broken throttle linkage. (MN) |
