The heavy rain caused an unexpected leader after a while: the red Group 4 BMW M1 with Stuck behind the wheel. Porsches 908/80 had already retired by then, and the Lola T600 which followed like a shadow retired as well. But then the M1 ran into trouble and the Porsche 935 of Röhrl, Grohs and owner Schornstein took over and won. Lancia’s works cars all retired, but the private car of Gabbiani, Pianta and Schön won their class. |
