The last time Mass would drive the Joest-Moby Dick (the car was already sold to Moretti) it all came good with a win on the Hockenheim track. But in practice, everybody was shocked by the Capri: 1.56,22 was a time nobody expected from the car. But after the start Stuck took the lead, the BMW leading the field into the woods of the first straight. But he returned last, entering the pit lane: after three minutes of frantic work, Stuck set off again, but soon he retired for good. In division 2, there were no worries for Ludwig; his new short stroke experimental F1 engine brought pole and a sub-2 minute time, beating team mate Niedzwiedz nearly 3 seconds and Heyer over 5 seconds! Since Niedzwiedz had another retirement, Heyer and Müller scored a 2-3 behind king Ludwig. |
