Since Grohs was added to the Schnitzer team as a sort of Joker, GS Lancia didn’t hesitate and brought a second car for Cheever. The American held back at the start to block Grohs, but the man from Essen didn’t like that at all and even before the start line he already attacked and got in between the Lancias. He touched Heyer, Cheever countered and in the end both Grohs and Heyer had a puncture. Heyer could start all over again, not for the first time this season, and in the end a fourth place and 10 points was the reward. It could have been 12, since Ertl who had been in the pits for 10 laps started a fight - with his team mate Niedzwiedz, nearly taking him out. But the D&W Capri held on and won the race, ahead of Stuck and Brun.

Division 1 was less exciting; Wollek had a minimal chance of the title, though when he took the lead in lap 6 some teams began to calculate. But the calculators could been put away soon, then Wollek came in with tyre troubles. Stommelen took over, but an oil leak in the interior (!) ruined his chances. So Winkelhock won ahead of Ludwig, who had been pushed off the track by Wollek early in the race and had to regain a lot of lost ground.

Trophy: Only two drivers from Division 2 had a chance of the title, Selzer and Hamelmann, both Escort, both 135 points. Selzer had the best options, fastest qualifier and leader in the race. But not so: fuel supply problems, out! Now Müller Jr was in the lead, with Robert Zakowski second. When Müller collided with a group 5 car, Zakowski won the race with Hamelmann second - and now a 15 point lead.
Danner, again, won Division 1, while Kelleners, close behind in second, retired with engine failure.
