For the fifth year running, a BMW coupé won the Silverstone TT. It was won by a 635 CSi driven by Werginz, Grano and Neger, fighting off a second 635 which retired at mid-race. The Group 2 Rover 3500 retired as well, so the Zakspeed Escort seemed to finish second - and then was disqualified for having illegal front suspension mountings. Now the BMW 320 of Kelleners and Müller Jr finished second, running like clockwork and having the smoothest of pit stops. |
