Unlike last year, the sportscars stole the show here; Rondeau won the race and the first Group 5 car finished fifth. It was the K3 Porsche of Barbour/Redman/Fitzpatrick, which had been in the lead but fell victim of engine troubles. Of the three Lancias, only one survived. Porsche’s new 924 Turbo had a fine debut, the best one finishing sixth overall, despite only 300 HP. |
