Production under 1600 cc
Derr, Oeberius Kapteyn and van Leeuwen could all become champion, and Prins had the best position in the 1600 cc class. From pole he took the lead, followed by Werkhoven, Derr, Kroesemeijer and Oeberius Kapteyn. Three laps from the end, Kroesemeijer and Derr touched which did the championship chances of Derr no good at all; but he recovered and set off to catch Oeberius Kapteyn. Kroesemeijer made up for his involvement, slipstreamed past Oeberius and towed Derr past the other Talbot as well.
Prins won his class but the car was subsequently disqualified: his Audi wasn’t legal, so the title went to Werkhoven instead.

Production over 1600 cc
It hadn’t been quiet in this class for over a year now, after Slotemakers’ posthumous championship-to-be. In this race, the championship was at stake with Vermeulen in the lead before the last round. Cleutjens was aggressive as ever, this time ramming the Camaro from behind, so its bumper trailed over the track - but Vermeulen was not black flagged, which made the Capri driver furious: “The Vermeulen family stormed to the race director to prevent the Chevrolet from being black flagged! They never see me back in Zandvoort!” After the race, he protested against the trailing bumper and the driving style of Vermeulen, but it was rejected - and Cleutjens appealed, of course. It came to nothing in the end, I guess.
Fellow Capri driver Houthuyzen made contact too, albeit he was innocent: he was rammed from behind by van Oostrum, who lost his brakes before Tarzan in lap 9.
Back to the front: Vermeulen still led Cleutjens, but Hemmes closed and slipstreamed past Cleutjens at the finish line for second. Vermeulen was champion, like de Jager in the 2500 cc class; his main opponent Antonides had a bad season in the ex-Hutzezon Escort and called it a day after 12,5 years at Zandvoort.
