Win Percy won the RAC Tricentrol British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch on Bank Holiday Monday. Percy's Mazda RX7 had very little opposition from outside his own TWR teams and the West Country garage owner was able to stroke home to a comfortable class win that puts him out of striking distance of all his rivals with two rounds of the series still to run. There was, in contrast, action in the other classes. Gordon Spice led home Andy Rouse to make it a one-two for the Spice Capris at the head of the field, Spice having to drive very hard to keep ahead of his team-mate. Further down the field Tony Lanfranchi took an excellent 1600 cc class win, pipping team-mate Stirling Moss's Akai Audi to the line, after a good charge through the field. Jon Dooley took a comfortable 1300 cc class win. |
