The long-distance Trophée Trans Europe race was hardly exciting; few competitors from abroad, and some locals who had qualified in the Dutch championship races on Saturday refused to take part - the big Camaros were allowed to the field but could not score points anyway since the TTE had a capacity limit of 3500 cc. With what was left the race took off, with Slotemaker in spectacular oversteer-style taking the lead, but one could hardly take his demonstration seriously; after five laps, he entered the pitlane. |
