The last race in this WMC season was in Rome, too far for Loos and Kremer so apart from some Group 6 cars there were 15 Group 5 (or less!) cars entered. The Italian 935 was missing too, Finotto/Facetti being in England to get their Euro championship, so the sportscars had a field day, finishing 1-6 with a Porsche Carrera RSR winning GT and Group 5 in seventh - after the only serious 935 of Schornstein/Dören was slowed by electrical problems. The Lancia of Röhrl and Cheever had a fine race but retired with intercooler problems. |
