Promotie - Group 1B under 1600 cc
It was again the usual VW parade, with last years’ champion De Deyne finally taking a win this year, from pole. Lacroix went from fifth to second - that was the high point of the race.

Produktie - Group 1B over 1600 cc
After the troubles of the last race, a new set of rules brainstormed: minimum weight now for 1300 cc cars 750 kg, for 1600 800 kg, 2000 cc 850 kg, 2500 cc 950 kg, 3000 cc 1150 kg and finally over 3000 cc it should be 1300 kg. Front spoilers were allowed now, and a little more freedom on the suspension mount was given too. These ideas came from a meeting with sponsors, constructors, drivers and officials - but it wasn’t over yet. The Capris had to take on a lot of ballast, and most of them refused; with the predictable result that they were disqualified!
The race therefore was won by the man third at the finish: Joosen in his BMW, after most of the other Capris fell victim of some harsh driving.

Group 2-5
Bourgoignie still used his valuable Porsche for this minor championship - another win (six out of six) in a boring race.
