An exciting and controversial race took place in Group 1, with Spinelli forcing his way past Arias three laps before the end. Arias complained of an "unsporting manoeuvre", but Spinelli saw things differently. This was not the only incident, already in the first round, when entering Le Mans, there was a dramatic incident in which Hestemberg ended up against the fences, while Serrano retired soon after, just like Pareja.
More controversy in the 1300 cc class; Fermín Sánchez beat Sasiambarrena, but complained that the Renault was "too low", a view that was not shared by the stewards. The Citroën driver appealed.

Salvador Cañellas won the race, but only after Hansi Bäbler retired with engine problems. Second was Martin Cantero, who took advantage of the retirement of Sanz de Madrid (transmission). In third position should have been the little Simca of de Onis, who benefited from two spins of Peñacoba; alas, his engine gave up on the penultimate lap and he was lucky to be classified; thus Peñacoba regained third ahead of Casagne and Mut, the latter winner of the 1300 class.
