The Martini car was entered one more time to blow away the rest of the field. It qualified on pole, nearly 1,5 seconds faster than the Loos car. The turbo BMW was in row four.
Ickx led the field away, and soon the turbo BMW retired after a stone had caused damage under the bonnet. The lead of the Martini car was huge, but 10 minutes from the end Schurti came in unexpected - the fuel pump had given up the ghost - they were out. Pescarolo and Wollek were handed an easy win, after they had beaten the Loos team.
