The final round of the Trans Europe Gp1 race saw a fabulous battle for the lead between the two evenly matched Capri's, there was seldom more than a car's length between them, and although Graham's Faberge car only led one lap it was always a distinct threat. Behind the Brits was a ferocious duel between Helmut Döring and Dieter Selzer in their RS2000 Escorts. This battle came to an end oh the 9th lap when Selzer punted Döring out of the race. At the same time an 8 Escort fight for the next placings, and hopes for more points for the champion Bauer evaporated in a big panel bending manoeuvre. Despite not adding to his points tally, he still won the championship. |
