Group 1
Polesitter Jódar lost all power at the first corner, a 2-pesetas piece being the cause. So exit Jódar, Marcos took over and got a small lead, while Galiano retired as well, which left second for Sanjurjo, fighting with Juan Carlos Mach. The fight between the two men lasted much of the race, until the first managed to break free. In the 1300 cc class, Alvarez (Simca) dominated the first four laps until he broke his engine, leaving victory of the category for Fermín Sánchez (X2 Citroen GS).

Group 2
It was expected that the works Seat would clearly dominate, and in the first three laps Cañellas seemed to be able to do just that - but in lap four he retired, and the lead was taken over by the Chrysler of Oñoro. The Chrysler power against lower weight and better handling of Bäbler’s Seat - Oñoro held the upper hand against all odds, but when Bäbler’s left front began to deteriorate his task became easier. Bäbler even lost the fight for second from Manuel Juncosa, his championship rival. Had Juncosa not been held up at the beginning of the race by Martin Cantero, he would have made a shot at the win since Oñoro’s clutch started to fail at the end of the race.
Fourth place went to the excellent de Onis, who was able to take advantage of his Simca, the only vehicle in this category that really was competitive today.
