With his Müller-prepared Golf, De St. Hubert was expected to have an easy victory, but with Toyota team tactics (Braillard blocking, Holvoet escaping) it took him until lap 8 to get to the front.

Production over 1600 cc
Vanierschot was favourite here with the sole remaining Serge Power/Kinley BMW 530 (the other one met its maker three days earlier in the hands of Joosen), but his start was bad and he was eighth when the field reached the Kanaalbocht. A touch with Hough (Opel) and a collision with another car meant the end. Martin won the race after Pirenne (Dolomite) retired.

Rob Redeker shot away first, but inevitably Vanierschot soon took over and won. Cornelisse won the 1300 class.

Braillard managed to hold Raus behind him for 10 laps, but then Raus finally managed to pass him and win.
