There were quite a few surprises in this non-championship race. Stuck was hired to pilot the GS-2002; Obermoser drove the Schnitzer car and Denzel came with his own Escort, since his GS BMW was already sold to Italy. And Trint had the best GT/E ever: 281 HP.
Stuck had been fastest 2-litre car in the mixed field and was on row 1. But his car lasted only two laps, then the half shaft broke. Denzel lost all his oil, and Obermoser had a big understeer problem in the Schnitzer car - but he still led the small class, until a backmarker broke Obermoser’s concentration - he went off.
So Trint actually won his class!
