The Bavarian attack to the Florida endurance event had more success that the Daytona 24 hour race. The circuit and its facilities were neglected, but the white cars from Germany were in better shape. Pole for Stuck, second was Gregg’s Porsche (white and German too), third the Corvette monster and fourth the second BMW. The BB Ferrari had practice troubles again, but this time they would have a much better race. Greenwood jumped into the lead, but fell back with gearbox troubles, leaving the BMW’s in front. The fast Camaro of Carter/De Lorenzo was not as fast as in Daytona, and retired after 4 hours. The Gregg Porsche collided with a Corvette and retired as well. |
