The weather at this track, another Porsche playground, was the main concern for the competitors. But when practice begun, the track was almost dry.

Division 1
Fastest at first practice was Stenzel (1.03,1); Schommers, who had returned after 4 weeks in hospital, was still complaining about his ribs and was off the pace - but in the afternoon he improved, despite brake problems. Surprise in second practice: Siewertsen was fastest of all with 1.01,3, but competitors thought he left out the chicane before the finish straight - like many others.
Third and last practice was on Sunday morning; Siewertsen did not think he could (or would) improve any further, but Stenzel and Wollek posted a quicker time with the latter in pole position. Behind Siewertsen followed Grohs, Kelleners and Krebs.
Grohs had a super start and tugged in behind Wollek, while Schommers improved from eight on the grid to third after the start. Kelleners and Krebs followed, behind then the row-1 pair of Stenzel and Siewertsen, who both missed the start it seemed. Stenzel spun in lap two and damaged the rear of his car - he retired. Krebs was fourth now, after he passed Kelleners - and Schommers had an accident and hit a tire wall. Müller had no oil pressure left and retired. Siewertsen had engine troubles, pitted but was sent out after a minute.
Krebs had passed Grohs in the ex-IMSA car in the meantime, and was second now. Kelleners closed in on Grohs too, and passed him in lap 16. But when he closed in on Krebs as well, he damaged a rim and had to pit to change the wheel - he returned in the race in 6th place. While Wollek was still in the lead with 15 second in hand over Krebs, Kelleners was really fired up. Lap 24: pass on Lässig, 5th. Lap 34: Leder passed, 4th. In the mean time, Krebs ran out of brakes and had to let Grohs by.
Kelleners now challenged poor Krebs for third, which he managed, while Krebs fell back even further. So finally the race went to Wollek, with Grohs an unexpected second and Kelleners third. Krebs finished 5th and celebrated this with drinking a bottle of brake fluid, which he mistook for a Coke...

Division 2
Fastest in practice had been Obermoser, Ludwig was second and Heyer in the 13” Escort, still a bit shaky after the Nürburgring crash, was third. The tension was high, since the time difference between the three main contenders was only 0,2 seconds. Still there was place for some fun.
Zakowski: “Hey, Jörg, allow me to drive your car to the gird.”
Obermoser: “OK, but remember to let the clutch go at 6000 rpm, and you can rev till 12000 rpm of course!”
It seemed that Heyer could keep the lead after the start, but Obermoser fought back and took the lead. Ludwig was third, and then there was a gap to Hennige and Becker. Heyer looked for a way by, but Obermoser would not have anything of that. Hennige retired with clutch problems, while Ludwig passed Heyer and was a close second behind Obermoser, who was not able to put any distance between him and the Escort duo. Heyer attacked Ludwig again, passed him and in lap 33 he was able to take the lead. The joy in the Ford box was over soon, since first Ludwig retired with a puncture, after driving on too long - a pit stop would have secured third place. But Heyer was able to keep the lead and won with 200 meters over Obermoser.
