Bemusement in Zolder: Peltier, still in the hunt for the championship, had not remembered the change in the programme; normally, it was the usual A-B-C-D, with Peltier and his Group 2 BMW in the last race (D), but this time the organisers had chosen A-B-D-C, since the last race of the day (E, if you are still with me) would be the second heat of the Belgian-German “EG Trophy” for Group 2 and 4 cars, where the first heat had been two weeks ago at a German meeting - incidentally won by Peltier. Back to the Belgian championship then. In the heat of the Special Trophy EG Peltier almost took an early lead and led for over twenty laps, ahead of two Porsche Carrera, one of which Dutch Siewertsen. They had to stop at the end of the race and, shortly after, the second position was occupied by the German Brambring of Carrera. Since that time there occurred other changes. |
